Another successful edition of the Ičići Little Fishermen’s Festival is behind us.
Supported and co-organized by the Ičići Tourist Board, the event serves as the end-of-year celebration of the Ičići Kindergarten and the Ičići Primary School Branch.
As an introduction to the programme, host Tea Vučak invited Mr. Kristijan Tončić, President of the Opatija City Council, to address the audience. Mr. Tončić kindly thanked the organizers for the invitation, praised their efforts, highlighted the importance of events such as this, and expressed his delight at the excellent attendance.
The youngest kindergarten children bid farewell to another preschool year through cheerful songs, recitations, and dance performances. Those preparing to start school in the autumn received diplomas in recognition of their efforts and achievements.
They were followed by the pupils of the local branch school, who delighted parents, grandparents, relatives, and friends with their performances. The older pupils, who will continue their education in Opatija next school year, also received diplomas and said goodbye to an important chapter of their childhood—one they will undoubtedly remember for years to come.
The children from the Early English Learning Group also showcased the results of their year-long work, entertaining the audience with songs and recitations in English.
The official programme concluded with a performance by the Opatija Riviera Majorettes, who impressed everyone with their talent and grace.As a special gift to all attendees, the Ičići Tourist Board presented the educational theatre play Buzzing Bee (Pčelica Brujalica) by Mala Scena Theatre from Zagreb. Through a series of adventures, the curious little bee discovers the importance of self-confidence, embracing diversity, and caring for nature. The play features renowned Croatian actress Nada Rocco, whose warm and energetic performance captivated and delighted the youngest audience members.
The evening concluded with the traditional Mini Disco hosted by DJ Vedran, who once again got the children dancing. The most enthusiastic young dancers kept going tirelessly, chanting "We want more!” as the programme gradually came to an end.
The Ičići Tourist Board would like to thank the Ičići Kindergarten, the Ičići Primary School Branch, programme host Tea Vučak, the Opatija Riviera Majorettes, Mala Scena Theatre, and DJ Vedran for their dedication, hard work, and for creating the warm atmosphere that made another Ičići Little Fishermen’s Festival such a memorable event.
